1. RESEARCH. If you have reached this blog before buying a voucher deal from say, Metrodeal then you're in for a good start.
- Check the real price of the "deal". There really is a possibility that the discount that is being offered is NOT really a discount. I have found a travel deal before in Metrodeal, (sorry but I cannot remember which) where the discounted deal is not really discounted. Upon checking the resort's website, I saw that the voucher deal price posted is the same as the regular price!!! Okay, fine, it was being offered by a travel company and not the resort itself. But still! When you buy vouchers, they have a lot of limitations. They have deadlines, blocked out dates, inferior services, etc. So if you find out that you can buy the same service or product directly from the vendor, then buy from them! It is always better that way.
- Check if the services or products being offered on the deal is really good. Actually, I have already seen a lot of products in Metrodeal, Ensogo, and Beeconomic that you can buy for less in Sulit or AyosDito. Research! Research! Don't be click-happy! Stop the impulse! Compare the prices first. Check the brand. Is it trustworthy? Think if the product being offered would last. Oh and yeah, do you really need it?
- Look for reviews such as this blog. Look for feedback in forums. Information is all over the internet. Make use of it!
3. RESERVE. So you have already bought that travel deal. Now what? Make your reservations early on. Perhaps it will still be 6 months before your Ensogo travel voucher expires but that does not mean you have all the time in the world to make your reservation. No! Do it right after purchasing the voucher! ASAP! Imagine how many people are buying those voucher deals. Now think how many days are in a year. How many rooms are there in the hotel / resort? Make your reservation as soon as you have your vouchers purchased to ensure that you get to pick your preferred travel days.
4. MAKE USE OF THAT PLANNER. Or notepad. Or that calendar hanging in your wall. Or the calendar in Outlook. Or the calendar or To Do List on your phone. Vouchers have expiration. Everyone knows it. Everyone forgets it. I just found out the other week that Ensogo sends out email warnings that I have vouchers that are about to expire. That feature, I really like! Not all have this feature though. Metrodeal, as far as I know, still does not have it. So just to make sure that the money you spend purchasing those vouchers deals does not get wasted, remember when all of them are going to expire. Note on your To Do List when are you supposed to have that hair rebond or massage. Remember that most of the times, if you do not arrive on your reserved date, your vouchers will be automatically forfeited. So plan ahead, be ahead!
5. SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE! Please leave me some comments below or in my other posts about your voucher purchases! I would really like to know them as a fellow deal buying addict. A lot of people will benefit if you will let them know how good or how bad are the services or products of a specific vendor in Metrodeal, Ensogo, Tcat, Kuponan, Deal Grocer, etc!
